Our Story
Del Amigo Pool Association has been serving the Danville community since 1975. As a member-owned, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are dedicated to providing a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for families to enjoy swimming, recreation, and community activities.
Our Mission
To maintain and operate a community swimming facility that promotes health, fitness, and social interaction while fostering a sense of community among our members and their families.
Community Focus
Del Amigo is the only west-side Danville community-based swim club. We pride ourselves on creating lasting friendships, providing instant playdates for children, and offering a place where neighbors can connect and build community bonds.
Meet Our Coaching Staff
Our experienced and passionate coaches bring years of competitive swimming experience and dedication to helping swimmers of all levels achieve their goals
Background
Born and raised in Richmond, Coach Julio was a competitive swimmer for the Berkeley Bears for over 10 years before finishing his career at Diablo Valley College. He began coaching through the Canyon Swim School under respected coach Fred Brown and has excelled ever since.
Experience
This is his 9th summer coaching, 2nd with Del Amigo, and 1st as Head Coach! He brings experience from OMPA, LSC, and VSA summer leagues, incorporating lessons from each into his charismatic coaching style. Graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Early Childhood and Adolescent Development.

Swimming Background
Dom grew up swimming year-round with Orinda Aquatics, then competed at DVC where he was an All-American swimmer and competed in two State Championships, making finals in three events each year. He transferred to Sac State, graduating in 2018 with a Sociology degree.

Swimming Background
This is John's 9th year at Del Amigo. As an age grouper, he swam for San Ramon Valley, Livermore Aquatics, and Orinda Aquatics, making his first Olympic Trial cuts in 2000. He qualified for Olympic Trials in 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012, reaching finals in the 200IM in 2008.
